The other port is the port of Hakone-en, in the middle of Lake Ashinoko, which is the main access to the Hakone Aquarium, Prince Hotel Hakone, and Komagatake Ropeway. Prince Hotel Hakone is close to Hakone-en as a favorite Hotel for tourists visiting Ashinoko Lake. The last port is the Moto Hakone, located in the southern part of the lake, which is the main access to the Narukawa art Museum, Hakone Shrine, and several hotels and restaurants on the shore of Lake Ashinoko.

– How to go to Lake Ashinoko?

1. From Odawara and Hakone-Yumoto

From Odawara you can take a bus to Moto-Hakone and Hakone-machi on the southern side of Lake Ashinoko. It takes about 50 minutes and the ticket price is 1,180 yen. From Hakone-Yumoto, you can take a 35-minute bus ride with a ticket price of 960 yen. Alternatively, if you have a Hakone Free Pass, you can take a free bus from Odawara or Hakone-Yumoto.

2. Use Gondola from Gora

If you want to feel the other atmosphere to see the view of Lake Ashinoko, you can try to take the gondola from Gora to Togendai which is on the north side of Lake Ashinoko. It is followed by a boat ride to Moto-Hakone or Hakone-machi on the south side. To reach Gora, friends can take the Hakone Tozan Railway from Odawara or Hakone Yumoto. All routes from Gora are free with the Hakone Free Pass.

3. Using Bus from Gotemba

From Gotemba, there are two buses every hour to Togendai with a 30-40-minute ride duration. The ticket price is 1020 yen or free of charge if using Hakone Free Pass.
